Climb as I might...

Starting BR: $73.26
Ending BR: $78.94

I'm getting close to the $80+ level again. I won a bit last night and almost a buck today. I played in a $2.20 satty to the Sunday Hundred Grand and qualified. I unregistered and had $11 tourny dollars. I played a $2.20 heads up tourny and lost. So now I have just under 9 left. Hopefully I ca play in a tourny and cash and not turn that win into a complete loss...

Up a little bit more...

Starting BR: $71.65
Ending BR: 73.26

I played for a few minutes last night and won almost a buck and picked up a few more cents today. One day at a time. Everyday I'm not at the next level I kick myself. That will hopefully stop soon.

I haven't posted in a little while...

Starting BR: $86.85
Ending BR: $71.65

Now at first glance you are going to think I just lost $15. That is not the case. Last week, I think it was Thursday night, I mistakingly played a $3 rebuy tourny and bought in 7 times (including the add-on). Now I'm not proud of this since it was out of my bankroll's range to be playing. It was a big mistake from a bankroll management perspective. (not to mention i got killed by the odds). At any rate I'm on the get back. I'm at $71.65 now and so my climb begins. It was a dumb set back and now I'm paying the price. If it wasn't for that stupid move I'd be on the next level right now.

LESSON LEARNED!

Consistency is the key to success on penny tables

Starting BR: $83.61
Ending BR: $86.85

If I have the same session tomorrow that I had today I'll be playing at the new level on Friday. But I'm going to get ahead of myself. I still have $3.15 to win before I am going to play the next level. I've been very consistent of late. My cards have been fairly consistent as well. Its to the point that I can change speeds and disguise my play. This helped today in my win. I've been making the same raises no matter what I hold and then following up with the same bets. I find that when I'm am consistent, the other players that aren't, give a lot away when they are checking, betting, and raising. I've not only had a very good week thus far money wise, I've learned a lot as well.

My goal was to be at the .02/.05 by March. It looks like that may come much sooner. Which is fine by me :)

Leave comments. I would love to hear from you.

Its like they just don't believe me ;)

Starting BR: $75.57
Ending BR: $83.61

I've been milking them lately. I had some really nice cards today. On top of that I played them well. Most of the time I would raise and people would just fold them up. But when they did call me they were along for the ride. I had one guy call me down as I made over $1 bets after the flop, turn, and river when I had AA, he had 99, and there were 3 overs on the board after the river when he called. He must have thought I was just over betting to shake him off his hand ;) Let them think what they want. I'll take an $8 lunch hour session on a penny table every day of the week. Less than $7 away from jumping up to the $.02/$.05 tables. If this keeps up it may happen sooner than later. Lets hope :)

Still Hot!

Starting BR: $73.16
Ending BR: $75.57

Well I continued my good play today. I've been milking the fishes stacks when I've got a nuts hand the last two days. I've been able to hit the hands in the right position to get them to come along for the ride. Not to mention I've been able to target the more aggressive players and get them to take shots at me after I've hit my hands. Hopefully I'll continue to have a good week.

Until tomorrow ;)

Big Sunday!

Starting BR: $45.29
Ending BR: $73.16

I got quite a large boost today. I won $18 on a penny table that I played most of the morning and early afternoon. I played well and once I got a little roll on there my table image allowed me to get a couple guys that wanted to chase but would give up on the turn. Which is nice because those medium pots add up. I also played in a $1 tourny. I took 12th out of over 600 people and won $10 there. I'm now only $17 away from my next level and hopefully I can continue to play like I played today. I made good reads and was able to get a lot of equity out of my hands.

A guarentee is a guarentee...

Starting BR: $41.59
Ending BR: $45.29

I should make guarantees more often. Had a great day today. All on one table. The second table couldn't get its head above water with a life vest on. I was up $3.70 on the session. I was getting a ton of pocket pairs. I flopped 2 different sets and both times I got paid off. It was quite nice. I played them well. I had position both times and let the raiser in front of me make the moves. Then at the end, I nailed them with my reraises and in disbelief they called. I played well with the cards I had. Its very nice coming into the weekend. Hopefully I'll get to play some :)

lessn of the day: flush draws

Starting BR: $44.32
Ending BR: $41.59

When playing on a penny table don't try to bet someone off a flush draw. The just don't fold them at this level. There is no processing of pot odds or any odds for that matter. If they have it they will draw. Its as simple as that. And they will hit. And they will do it over and over and over again. Things could have been much worse today but I rebound well after losses to fishy players. This is because I play consistently the same way. Some days you lose but more often you will win. I'll win tomorrow. That is a guarantee.

The last 3 days...

Starting BR: $44.22
Ending BR: $44.32

Well my streak of horrible sessions is over. The last one happened on monday. I was all set up to take down a $.79 session when the last hand I got was QQ. There was some raising and reraising preflop with a pretty loose player. Ended up all-in, he had AA. So I was down $3 instead. The last two days I've won that back plus $.10. So I'm starting my climb back towards $50 again. Its been rough so far this year. Hopefully I can get back on my consistent willing track again. Tomorrow will tell its own story.

leave notes.

Starting BR: $46.28
Ending BR: $44.22

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't seem to get anything going. And once I do I get fished out on good play after good play. I'm at a loss on what to do right now. I may take a week off or something to clear my head. My cards plus the play of these guys is beyond comprehension.

Short session today...

Starting BR: $45.63
Ending BR: $46.28

It was a short session. Double table. Only able to get up .65. I had AA busted by AK suited on a running flush early on. Then later got the guy to call my all-in when I had JJ. The donkey only had 66. That got me back up close to even and I just ground it out after that.

And the spiral continues

Starting BR: $48.95
Ending BR: $45.63

How bad will it get? Its like everyone gets 1 card better than me. I raise and people are staying with 5 2 and 7 4 and hitting on top of when I actually hit. The last two days have been gut wrenchingly bad. That's why you stay within your BR limits. Because if I had these cards on tables where my entire roll was invested I would be in broke.

Chin up. I won't be playing tomorrow as I'll be out of the office. But when I come back on thursday i should be killing them all.

Bleeding me dry...

Starting BR: $50.81
Ending BR: $48.95

No more deviation from the plan. I got a little frisky this weekend and played a 1.10 sng to get into the sunday 100grand. Didn't qualify because i got sucked out on. That's why I don't play tournies on PS. Too damn fishy.

Been getting beat up on the penny tables. Lots of flushes hitting lately. Not to mention boats and straights at my expense as well. I love it when a guy calls most of his stack on a draw. Keep playin those percentages fishies. I'll be here waiting for you.

First loss of the new year...

Starting BR: $54.67
Ending BR: $50.81

I had a tough round last night. Whooooo boy. I was getting bashed by big hands. I lost with a flush to a rivered boat. I lost with top 2 to a flopped junk straight. And the list goes on. When I didn't have the better kicker I lost, and when I did have the better kicker the other guy had 2 pair. It was just one of those nights.

I played at lunch today. My cards were not very good. I had been getting a little loose and trying to press to make things happen. I just sat back today and tried to be more patient. I won $.36 but I saw almost 125 hands. Not too great. I saw JJ a couple times but none of the big pockets. I played about 250 hands last night and didn't see AA or KK once. I'm definitely due for a big session with a lot of big cards because mine have been scarce.

Leave it.

Another good day in 2008

Starting BR: $51.61
Ending BR: $54.67

I got a good table image going today and was able to get a guy to bluff me his stack when I had top two. I put up just over $3 today. I hope I can keep the roll going tomorrow.

Let me know you stopped by.
If you have any questions I would answer them.
I see my counter rising...I know you're out there ;)

New Year, New Month

Well folks, its time for the month end update from December and the Year end update from 2007. So here goes...

December.
Starting BR: $45.34
Ending BR: $51.61

That is only a 13.8% increase in my bankroll for the month. It was a rough month. I had a bad week and a half in the middle of the month. But the end of the month was very good and I was able to bounce back.

2007 Year End.
Starting BR: $15.00
Ending BR: $51.61

That is a 244% increase in my bankroll for the year. My bankroll percentages will hopefully jump at a yearly rate of over 300%. If I can triple my money from year to year it would be ok. It wouldn't be great, but it wouldn't be bad. That would see me at $150 by year end. This means I would be just getting ready to hit the nickle/dime level in 2009. Hopefully it won't take that long.

As for my first session of 2008
Starting BR: $51.61
Ending BR: $52.38

I was up $.77 for my first session. I saw a lot of pocket pairs and hit a couple but didn't make out really well on them. The hand that did it was when I had KJ and flopped 10 10 J, then turned a J, and rivered the 4th J. The guy didn't believe me when I put him all-in. I win :)
